Health Equity Research Center’s fifth Journal Club was successfully concluded on the noon of June 19th, 2021.

In this session of our journal club, the main discussion was the paper “An Introduction to the Health System Related Social Determinants“

Dr. Takian, Center’s Deputyof research, as the moderator started the session with a brief overview of the agenda, the paper, and an introduction of our center.

Next, Mohammad Mehdi Kiani and Khatere Khanjankhani, the paper’s authors, presented the paper giving a detailed explanation of its background and illustrating the main goals and findings of the article pointing to its importance for Iran’s healthcare system.

The session came to an end with a short Q&A panel where attendees could freely discuss the paper and speak with the author.

This was the fifth club of our series of Journal Clubs which, will be held once every other week on Saturdays. Attendance is free for whoever is interested in subjects of health and equity. Check the website for updates and announcements.
