According to the public relations report of Tehran University of Medical Sciences, Dr. Amir Hossein Takian, professor of global health policy at Tehran University of Medical Sciences, in a conversation with the public relations reporter of the university, while congratulating the health week, referring to naming one day of the health week as the day of “healthy society and production growth”. He said: 75 years ago,  when the World Health Organization was established, in the charter of this organization, a law based on health for all and equitable access to health was codified. Dr. Takian emphasized that a community-oriented orientation is necessary for the development and growth of human societies. He said: A person’s health is enabled by the constructive and two-way communication of international communities, and there are many scientific evidences show that a person can reach his potential by being sociable, and when he feels he benefits the society in which he lives, and the society also help him to thrive. Then he can be a healthy person. In defining health, Dr. Takian said: Health is not just the absence of disease; Rather, it is complete physical, mental, social and spiritual well-being and having a good mood, and it is formed in a productive society. He considered a productive society as a setting  in which all aspects related to a society are in a state of balance. He said: A society that is good in terms of production power, having international relationship, respecting environmental issues and creating growth capacity for citizens and in general in all aspects. In terms of education, production and interpersonal communication and all the things that are found in a healthy society, to achieve  wellbeing such a this society we need. In this society, the economic index is an infrastructural one, and such a society enjoys economic growth and health. Professor of world health policy at Tehran University of Medical Sciences, referring to an article published in the scientific journal Lancet in 2020, said: This article has measured the relationship between democracy and health based on the global burden of diseases, and it is briefly stated that when people  share in their destiny and feel they live in a progressive society, the society is more health-oriented. Dr. Takian pointed out the measures taken in the Faculty of Health and said: A nationwide case study was conducted with more than 3000 samples in the Faculty of Health, the results  showed a social capital is related to behavioral risk factors in non-communicable diseases, which means that If we have better social capital, the incidence of some acute diseases such as diabetes, high blood pressure and heart attack will decrease, and societies that are rich in social capital are considered productive societies, and in such a society, it is easier to make decisions for people’s health by maintaining environmental issues. The professor of global health policy said about the role of the university in creating a productive society:  Universities can easily overcome all problems with  the government and people (civil society). Fortunately, good mechanisms in this field have been established in the country and appropriate capacities have been created to use scientific evidence. By doing two main and fundamental tasks, including producing scientific evidence and enlightenment, and using human resources, the university undertakes to educate citizens to turn that evidence into reality. He stated the role of the university in productive and healthy societies to respond to the questions and problems of the society and said: In addition universities, can empower and enlighten the people by using the capacity of social networks and also can help the people and government by communicating its messages . University and academics as reference and educated groups can play an effective role if they communicate with people using mass communication tools and media. The world health policy professor added: In the past 20 years, international studies have been conducted, one example of which is the study of the burden of diseases, and it has led to the clarification of many phenomena, and the university as an auxiliary has been helpful in conducting these studies and providing information A great deal has been achieved about the characteristics of Iranian citizens regarding issues that endanger the lifestyle and health of citizens, and when this evidence is provided to the Ministry of Health and decision-making and policy-making authorities, it is naturally effective in the planning and policies of the health system. Stating that the role of the university is not just  producing evidence, Dr. Takian said: The creation of evidence is the fundamental role of  university, and the main role of that is to present the evidence to the policy makers and  link the scientific evidence produced to the decision makers. In order to do that, we should refer to the governmental organizations and invite the politicians to attend the forum. The politicians should also create a field for educated scientists so that their opinions are used in the decision-making process. The professor of health policy, referring to the “triangle of the university, the government and the people”, pointed to the presence of the people and said: a main and essential dimension of a healthy society and the growth of production is the presence of people who are enabled by intelligentsia and can be involved in the process of production growth.  This triple connection over time and in the medium term leads to the creation of a healthy society. Therefore, academics are the middle link between people, civil society and the government, who can create and maintain a relationship between them to achieve the desired result. Referring to the people’s lifestyle, he said: the most important risk factor for people’s death is their unhealthy diet. The government  cannot take action to reform this wrong culture alone. Rather, the people themselves must learn to modify their lifestyle,  nutrition and physical activities .Just an instruction cant amend it . Dr. Takian called the implementation of university policies important to improve people’s lifestyle  and told The university, as an intermediary and authority, should involve people in the health decision-making process by establishing the National Health Forum, and the government should provide the necessary support so that this issue leads to an increase in social capital, production and health promotion. Increasing the level of health and increasing the growth of production with investment in the health sector both have an increasing, direct and exponential relationship, and in a balanced society, there is nothing better than that these investments take place, and it is expected that the Ministry of Health intervenes in the management of the country’s health system and facilitate this process. At the end of his speech, he said: I hope  leading to this existing attitude and  the plans that are being made, a better context will be provided for the health system to work in the direction of creating a thriving society, which will lead to greater health and wealth creation.
