Health Equity Research Center’s eleventh Journal Club was successfully concluded on the noon of December 7th, 2021.

In this session of our journal club, the main discussion was the paper titled “Distributional health and financial consequences of increased cigarette tax in Iran: extended cost-effectiveness analysis“

Dr. Sara Emamgholipour, as the moderator started the session with a brief overview of the agenda, the paper, and an introduction of our center.

Next, Dr. Behzad Raei, one of the authors, presented the paper giving a detailed explanation of its background and methodology and illustrating the main goals and findings pointing to its importance for Iran’s healthcare system.

The session came to an end with a short Q&A panel where attendees could freely discuss the paper and speak with the author.

This was the eleventh club of our series of Journal Clubs which will be held once every other week on Tuesdays. Attendance is free for whoever is interested in subjects of health and equity. Check the website for updates and announcements.
