Health Equity Research Center’s seventh Journal Club was successfully concluded on the noon of August 24th, 2021.

In this session of our journal club, the main discussion was the paper titled “Physician induced demand for knee replacement surgery in Iran“

Dr. Takian, Center’s Deputy of research, as the moderator started the session with a brief overview of the agenda, the paper, and an introduction of our center.

Next, Dr. Cyrus Alinia, one of the authors, presented the paper giving a detailed explanation of its background and illustrating the main goals and findings pointing to its importance for Iran’s healthcare system and healthcare insurance package design.

The session came to an end with a short Q&A panel where attendees could freely discuss the book and speak with the author.

This was the seventh club of our series of Journal Clubs which during summer, will be held once every month on Tuesdays. Attendance is free for whoever is interested in subjects of health and equity. Check the website for updates and announcements.
