Vise director of Health equity research center and global health and policy making group’s chairman noted: strategic purchasing of health services is a key element in reaching a suitable Universal Health Coverage in line with a suitable financial system in any country.

Dr. Takian on Thursday, on strategic health service purchasing, added: according to WHO’s frameworks and World Bank’s advises, strategic purchasing is of great importance. In any financial system, work must start at resource provision; and these resources must be put to gather clearly so that health services can be purchased in a way that a fitting amount with suitable efficiency for a sufficient number of services would be available for purchase. This can lead to a proper health services package designing.

He continued: strategic purchasing of health services is the key chain in creating a benefitial health services package. The health system must have a proper governance for strategical purchasing of health services and if this purchase isn’t done in the right way, is because its elements haven’t been implemented.

The vise director of health equity research center of Tehran university of medical sciences mentioned: a change in health services package and an improvement in information system are also important activities of the health system. Usage of clinical guides is also a note worthy issue, decision making must be evidence based.

Dr. Takian said: Universal Health Coverage means that every citizen, without any exceptions or financial complications, in any given location or of any social and economical status has access to all their needed services.
