Dr. Takian’s interview with the Health Observatory program

On Tuesday August 39th Dr. Amirhossein Takian, HERC’s deputy of research, appeared on the Iranian national TV Health Channel’s Health Observatory, to discuss and debate that episodes theme “dos and don’ts of preventing conflict of interests resulting in corruption in healthcare settings.”

During this episode featuring two guests; Dr. Amirhossein Takian, HERC’s deputy of research and TUMS’s professor and head of the Health Policy group, and Dr, Mohsen Jalavati, deputy of transparency and equity institute; Dr. Takian began with a brief introduction of the term “conflict of intrest” and continued by giving examples and illustrating its roots in the healthcare system.

The episode continued by guests’ explanations of types, risk areas and institutes which are vulnerable in the face of complications risen from conflicts of interest, and came to an end by a summary of some practical measures that could lessen its burden on the healthcare system.
