Health Technology Assessment (HTA) is a relatively new field in health policy discussions, the purpose of which is to act as a bridge between health decisions and policies and practical measures taken in order to help decision and policy makers to plan and adopt the most efficient solution. This process, like all health studies, uses various methods to evaluate and obtain reliable data and thus has its own specific terms and expressions to explain its  findings and illustrate its methods; that is why at the annual meeting of the network Health Technology Assessment Organizations In 2002, members discussed the need for a standard list of definitions for terms used in health technology assessment. The goal of this process was to provide a common glossary to the health technology assessment community (both producers and users of assessment information) to unify thieir works in this area.

This book, which is the first edition of this glossary, has been translated and published in Persian for the first time by the efforts of the Health Equity Research Center, the National Health Research Institute and the National Health Insurance Research Center to become a reference for the common and key international terms of this area for health technology assessment enthusiasts and professionals.
