Health Equity Research Center’s eighth Journal Club was successfully concluded on the noon of September 14th, 2021.

In this session of our journal club, the main discussion was the paper titled “The Association Of Increasing Hospice Use With Decreasing Hospital Mortality; An Analysis Of The National Inpatient Sample“

Dr. Olyaeemanesh, Center’s Head, as the moderator started the session with a brief overview of the agenda, the paper, and an introduction of our center.

Next, Dr. Somayeh Noorihekmat, presented the paper giving a detailed explanation of its background and illustrating the main goals and findings pointing to its importance for Iran’s healthcare system and healthcare insurance package design.

The session came to an end with a short Q&A panel where attendees could freely discuss the paper and speak with the author.

This was the eighth club of our series of Journal Clubs which during summer, will be held once every month on Tuesdays. Attendance is free for whoever is interested in subjects of health and equity. Check the website for updates and announcements.
