Abstract

Introduction

People’s needs in public health shift swiftly. Public health schools must prepare their students for this ever-changing world. Although the prior responsibility of the public health sector is the health of the population. This study analyses the necessary subjects that need to be tough in a public health school by inspecting the current challenges and their responsibilities.

Methods

Various documents were reviewed for this study.

Results

Some of the important elements in revising the public health major’s curriculums are: changing the old school class structures, developing talents and competency, and creating opportunities to do interdisciplinary projects and cooperation. The important subjects to be taught in a public health school includes: problem-solving, how a health system functions, leadership skills development, management and teamwork, global health, policymaking, developmental sciences, data analysis methods, technology and information, health economics, communications, cooperative society-based projects, and ethics. Looking into the future, revising the teaching strategies and methods in a public health school would bring many benefits to students and enable them to handle population’s challenges in the decades to come.

conclusions

To answer the new challenges and satisfy the latest needs, public health schools need to advance and move forward. To improve the overall health of  society, we need to use the latest theoretical and practical teaching methods to educate capable experts in this field.
